About This DesignCredit for this design goes to longtime Team Get Smoked member Eric Seace, aka Captain Underbait! Eric, Mike Goetz and I had skipped bedtime all together, took showers and suited up in our Get Smoked best after a legendary night of partying in San Jose, Costa Rica.
During the short, scenic flight to Crocodile Bay Resort on the remote Pacific coast of Costa Rica, we decided we had a better chance of actually living through the day if we fished inshore on our first day. After a hot breakfast we confirmed with Captain Colocho that we did infact have 4 cases of water on board as requested rehydration is key!
We headed out for La Roca, featured in this design, the famous rock at the mouth of the Gulf Del Dulce where Giant Roosterfish and Monster Cubera snapper feed on the local baitfish. As the mates baited up the rods, Captain Colocho screeched his best Cock-a-Doodle-Doo at the top of his lungs. Buddy, the blue runners didn't have a chance that day, the minute we got the nibble, Eric yelled out, there's my Costa Rican Wake Up Call baby!
